Coppice & Crown Chestnut flooring was used in this small upstairs garden room within a barn conversion. The property owners were looking for a neutral toned natural wood floor, with few knots for both practicality and design. They deliberately chose to space the boards with gaps between to add a sense of depth and texture to the Chestnut floor.
As you walk into this garden room, you get a instant feeling of calm as the colour palette and natural materials draw your eye in to take a seat. Sitting on a whicker chair, with a cool glass of sparkling elderflower you can sit back and let nature soothe your mind through peace and tranquility in this space, designed for calm.
The barn was designed with sustainable materials at the forefront of their mind, and the importance of using natural materials over anything synthetic. Our natural and sustainable wood flooring offered to tick both boxes when looking for a suitable wood flooring and sits quietly with the plethora of plants in the room.
The room is used for house plants as well as storing the outside plants such as geraniums in the colder winter months. It was vital to chose a practical and durable wood flooring that would withstand the test of time.
It’s a greenhouse as well as a relaxing reading area with views across the valley from the comfort of a mohair cushion and a sheepskin rug. The wood flooring has been finished with Osmo Raw which has blended any of the chocolate colour boards to a paler palette, creating an even tone across the wood floor, matching with the soft colour scheme of the room.
