Internal oak cladding

Wade Mill

This flooring has been laid for over 25 years over underfloor heating. It shows our classic oak finished using a linseed oil which gives it a slightly darker appearance than some of our other classic oak examples. The underfloor heating system is a uses water pipes running directly under the floor. The floor is suspended on battens and nailed down to the battens. When using this method it is important to mark where your battens lie so that you’re able to accurately fix the flooring without jeopardising the UFH.

Five Oaks Sitting Room

This flooring again shows our classic oak, but this time over an electric underfloor heating system. The wires were laid within a screed and battens were placed at intervals within the screed.

Option 2 in our resource centre here shows this method of installation. Again it is important to mark where the battens are so that the floor layer can easily fix the boards. This flooring has been laid for over 5 years at the point of this photograph.

Five Oaks Snug

This flooring shows our ash solid wood flooring laid over underfloor heating using a nail as a fixing method. The boards are laid on battens which have been set into screed. This method is a good method for a new build property where you have the option to lay your screed. Our ash flooring is just as compatible underfloor heating as our oak flooring.

Woolsery - Farmers Arms

This is an example of a public space that uses our solid wood flooring over underfloor heating. The Devon pub used our flooring back in 2018 when it was renovated by it’s high profile owners. Having a warm and cosy pub was a must in this coastal area of devon, and so it was important that our wood floors were compatible with the underfloor heating system put in place. They used a method of aluminium ,spreader platers on the first floor of the pub. This spreader plates fit between joists and usually come in set sizes of around 400mm centres. Our Oak boards fit perpendicular to the joists below and can be fixed with nail of screw.
