We have some super news this week. Our heat treatment plant finally arrives in the UK for installation at our sawmill in Devon.
We’re so excited to share that our we’re going to be expanding our ranges to include thermally modified timber to our Devon sawmill portfolio. Thermally modified timber is perfect when used as a cladding material, for decking, or as a seamless flooring option from indoors to outdoors.
A dark wood flooring option......
Our thermally modified timber creates a gorgeous dark hue within the grain of the timber. Unlike any stain or oil, the rich dark colour travelled through the entire depth of the flooring, giving you long lasting and guaranteed dark wood flooring. There is no need to re stain your flooring in yours to come.
Chemical Free......
Our thermally modified timber is completely chemical free. Using globally renowned technology, which has only recently reached the shores of the UK, we’re creating a thermally modified timber which uses only heat and vacuum to denote the cells of the timber. With absolutely no chemicals involved, we can guarantee you a safe and natural dark wood flooring choice.
A Gorgeous Scent ......
The heating process denatures the cells and gives the timber a short lasting but beautiful burnt sugar smell. We can often find that a lot of stains and oils contain a lot of VOCs and can be harmful to the atmosphere within your home. This thermally modified timber is naturally heated and brings no harmful toxins into your house.
Bring the Outdoors In.....
Our thermally modified timber is created as a durable and long lasting exterior material, which can also be used internally. The perfect way to create a seamless outdoor to indoor area. Imagine opening the doors of your kitchen onto your outdoor seating area, with a floor that continues through from one to the other- magical.

All of our flooring is certified with Grown in Britain ensuring that all of our timber comes from UK woodlands which are safely managed and encourage biodiversity within the woodland.
