Deep down in the village of Mullion, Cornwall, Rose Hanson and her husband Josh Widdicombe have lovingly restored a 19th century former artist’s house using our signature Classic Oak.
A sympathetic restoration took place with new windows being fitting, rooms being reconfigured and our solid wood flooring being fitted in various rooms.
The heart of a home is often the kitchen, and our solid wood flooring took pride of place in here partnered with a Devol Kitchen and a soft wall colour from Edward Bulmer Paints. Our wood flooring is ideal for a kitchen environment where it’s forgiving to spills and copes perfectly with hectic family life. All of the flooring here was fitted over underfloor heating to keep feet toasty and warm during the colder months of the year.
In the sitting room our Classic Oak solid wood flooring continues, paired with Rose’s impeccable taste of lighting. Rose has since stated her own interior design business with a friend, Charlotte, who she used throughout her renovations to help advise her on the interiors and seek out the best materials to use. Penrose Tilbury was founded in 2024 and we’re pleased to have been suppliers to their first project here in the South West.
Originally, solid wood flooring was only going to extend as far as the kitchen and sitting room, but Josh, having seen the floor in sample form, decided he’s want the Classic Oak wood flooring in his office too. An important work space for the comedian, we find a natural wood flooring the perfect base for any office environment, bringing the outdoors in, which is vital when you’re staying in a county as beautiful as Cornwall.
